Secretary-General
Harry Liu
Leading us for the big 30th edition of GWCIA is Harry, our secretary general! Harry is a senior studying Political Science and Economics, with a minor in Philosophy. Growing up in Myanmar, Harry has done Model UN since 7th grade, and this will be his second time serving as a SecGen. When he’s not busy planning conferences or debating a crisis, Harry can be spotted around DC going on walks, cooking for his friends and scaling up walls in the climbing gym. He cannot wait to see you all this December!
Chief of Staff
Alexia Creeden
Alexia is a Junior studying International Affairs and History with a minor in Economics. She has been on the GWMUN travel team since freshman year, and has worked on both GWCIA and WAMUNC (our high school conference) multiple times. On campus she is the Vice President of Philanthropy for Sigma Iota Rho, and is a member of a sorority. In her free time, you can probably find her visiting a new coffee shop, traveling somewhere on the east coast, or shopping for things she can't afford. She is so excited to meet you all in the fall for GWCIA!
Director of Finance
Ben Sassone
Hailing from Chicago, Ben is a Sophomore studying International Affairs. He's been competing in Model UN since he was in middle school and is very excited to have the opportunity to help run a conference! Outside of MUN, Ben is a big fan of music, whether it's collecting old LPs or drumming/singing himself.

Sameeksha Arutla
Sameeksha is a Sophomore studying International Affairs and International Business. She joined the GWMUN team her freshman year of college and is also involved with the Pre-Law Student Association and international affairs journal at GW. Outside of school, she spends her free time reading, hanging out with friends, and constantly searching for anything and everything pink to buy for her room (bonus points for flowers). Sameeksha is incredibly excited to help make GWCIA 30 an amazing experience for everyone!

Penelope Walston
Penelope is a Sophomore majoring in International Affairs and Political Science with a minor in French. She has been doing MUN for 4 years and absolutely loves the social aspect of it. She has met so many amazing people through MUN, especially some of her closest friends at GW. Other than MUN, Penelope loves all sorts of hobbies including dance, listening to music, reading, and visiting the DC zoo any chance she gets.
Executive Director
Mariam Muradyan
A senior studying Philosophy and Psychology, Mariam has previously staffed and chaired committees and GWCIA and is excited to return to the conference as Executive Director! She has been a dedicated MUN delegate since high school and looks forward to creating the best conference experience for everyone. When she's not deep in MUN prep, you can find her knitting cozy creations, listening to her multitude of playlists, or drinking more Diet Coke than water. Mariam is thrilled to be working with GWCIA once again and can’t wait to see all the skilled delegates.
Director of Operations
Devin Cox
Originally from Framingham, Massachusetts, Devin is a Sophomore majoring in International Affairs. In addition to serving as the Director of Operations for GWCIA 30, he competes on the GWMUN travel team, serves as the COO for the George Washington International Affairs Association, and is a member of the Sigma Iota Rho Honor Society for International Studies. In his free time you can find him reading science fiction, cheering on Bay Area sports teams, playing guitar in his metalcore band, or in the mosh pit at a local show.
Director of Conference Relations
Pragya Shankar
Pragya is a sophomore studying International Affairs and History. Originally from Long Island, New York, she’s been doing MUN since 6th grade and hopes delegates at GWCIA have just as much fun as she did back in middle school! At GW, she’s part of the GWMUN travel team and Vice Chair of the International Affairs Society. When she’s not doing MUN, Pragya loves reading, going to concerts, listening to music on repeat, and getting lost in DC’s many museums.

Lucas O'Flanagan
Lucas is a Sophomore studying International Affairs and International Business. He's from the World Capital of Basketball and National Capital of Pizza: the beautiful state of Connecticut. He's a current member of GW's traveling MUN team and last year staffed GWCIA's senate committee. Outside of MUN, he loves reading on the National Mall (currently getting through The Lord of the Rings), going to museums, and drawing. He's so excited to see what creative solutions delegates come up with in our regional bodies!

Daniel Catapang
Daniel is a Junior studying International Affairs and Asian Studies with a minor in History. Daniel has been involved in Model UN since his freshman year of high school and now competes with GW's amazing travel team. He recently returned from a semester abroad at the National University of Singapore and is excited to be back stateside. When he's not scheming his next crisis arc for the MUN circuit, you’ll likely find him exploring cafes around DC, cheering on the San Francisco 49ers and Ohio State Buckeyes, or talking about the Philippines. He's very excited to see what creative crisis arcs delegates will bring to GWCIA 30!
